Description

VESTED is a narrative strategy game where you found a tech startup in 1990 and try to survive the dot-com bubble. Make decisions every quarter across 48 turns, managing your burn rate, board dynamics, and company culture through 784 events and 19 possible endings. The interface evolves with the era, from DOS terminal to corporate dashboard.

The game was originally developed by Rocketdog Interactive, a five-person studio in San Francisco, between 1998 and 2000. It was never released. The source was recovered from a CD-R in 2024 and has been restored and completed.

The Backstory

VESTED was built by five people in a loft on Folsom Street during the height of the dot-com boom. The studio closed when their investor pulled funding after the NASDAQ crashed. The full story of Rocketdog Interactive and how the game was recovered is on the About page.
